Identify unbelief and the stumbling blocks in coming to our Savior Jesus Christ

One of the first thoughts that rested upon our minds early on is the idea of stumbling blocks that are in our own lives that are preventing us from receiving the same results of those in the scriptures. It is easier to teach a child than an adult; adults tend to have years of experience and perceived knowledge that conflict with new ideas and promptings from the Lord. So we prayed that the Lords would teach us and help us to identify these stumbling blocks and false beliefs with the hope we would see the scriptures with new eyes.

Soon the Lord started to identify what current held beliefs prevented us from receiving greater truths. He does this in a step by step process. For if he showed us all our false traditions at once we would not be able to comprehend or accept what He was trying to give us. For what good is a gift if the one receiving it doesn't accept it. He wants to give us what we will accept and what we are willing and able to receive.

We also believe if we continued to believe we had "all" the knowledge necessary we wouldn't be taught anything new. Clearly now we can step back and identify those false beliefs. As we identified what we truly wanted we more easily understood we didn't know that which is necessary to receive that which Lehi, Nephi, Abraham, Moses, and all the Holy Prophets received. One of the greatest principle the Prophet Joseph Smith shared with us is the fact if was brought to the knowledge of his lost state when he clearly identified that he must seek the Lord to find his answer to what is true. Opening his mind that he didn't understand and that he would accept the answer given.

If you are one that is desirous to know understand this path is not an easy one nor is it one the masses are attracted to. There is parable given of the Christian and the Surfer that the Lord gave to my wife.
